New Delhi, August 5: Army Chief General Dheeraj Seth has reviewed various military formations of the Central Command. During this assessment, he emphasized the importance of operational readiness. At the headquarters in Lucknow, he was briefed on the command’s operational status, infrastructure development, modernization efforts, and steps taken to enhance combat preparedness.
Following this, he visited the Northern Command headquarters, where he met with military commanders and soldiers. This two-day visit on August 4 and 5 involved reviewing the current security landscape, operational readiness, and ongoing capability enhancement initiatives. At the Lucknow headquarters, General Seth addressed soldiers of all ranks.
He stated that operational readiness, adaptability to changing circumstances, and self-reliance are the cornerstones of military effectiveness. He urged soldiers to remain vigilant, agile in operational vision, and always prepared for future challenges to effectively address emerging security threats.
During his visit, General Seth honored retired Major General Harsh Kakar, retired Colonel Arvind Singh Kushwaha, retired Naib Subedar Radhe Shyam, and honorary Captain and retired Risaldar Major Vijay Kumar. They were recognized for their exceptional contributions to social service, education, health, environment, agriculture, sports, and welfare of ex-servicemen. This honor acknowledges their continued service and dedication to the nation even after active military service.
This visit underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining high operational readiness and building a technically empowered, self-reliant military force prepared for the future.
Notably, at the end of last month, Army Chief General Dheeraj Seth conducted a comprehensive review of the security situation in the northeastern region of the country. He was on a two-day visit to the military formation areas of the Eastern Theater on July 28 and 29, where he assessed the current security situation, military preparedness, and efforts to maintain peace and stability. During this time, he evaluated the security situation in Manipur and reviewed the operational readiness of various military formations. He also gathered information on the progress of flood relief operations in different northeastern states.
