Arjun Ram Meghwal Addresses Concerns of Sanitation Workers on Commissions 33rd Anniversary

New Delhi, August 23: On Sunday, the 33rd anniversary celebration of the National Commission for Sanitation Workers took place in Delhi. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Ramdas Athawale addressed various issues related to sanitation workers during the event.

Arjun Ram Meghwal stated, “On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the National Commission for Sanitation Workers, representatives from all states and union territories have gathered here. These sanitation workers lead our society and manage organizations.”

He further mentioned that a compilation of the demands presented by sanitation workers has been requested. Comments will be sought from different ministries, and a meeting will be held with the Ministry of Law to address their issues.

Highlighting a significant initiative, Meghwal noted, “There are many unsung heroes from the Valmiki community who have excelled in various fields. A major campaign has been launched to recognize them. If memorials are built for them, people will surely come to visit.” He also announced the introduction of a missed-call service for sanitation workers to easily voice their concerns.

Meanwhile, Ramdas Athawale remarked, “We decided to celebrate the anniversary of the National Commission for Sanitation Workers here… It is because of sanitation workers that we are alive. Therefore, to ensure justice for sanitation workers, we have established this commission to address their issues.”

During the ceremony, sanitation workers from across the country voiced their demands. The government assured them that their concerns would be taken seriously and solutions would be sought in collaboration with the relevant ministries.
