Mumbai, June 24: Television actor Arjun Bijlani recently shared his heartfelt experiences meeting cancer patients in Chhattisgarh. He expressed that this encounter profoundly shook him. Bijlani emphasized that raising awareness about cancer is not just the responsibility of one industry or a select few; it is a duty for everyone who can communicate with society. He urged people to unite in spreading awareness about this illness.
Speaking about his emotional visit, Bijlani stated, “Meeting cancer patients in Chhattisgarh left me in tears. I saw a two-year-old child battling cancer. Witnessing the child’s condition and the distress of their parents can break anyone’s heart. At that moment, I realized how fragile life is and how a small oversight can lead to significant problems. This experience became a deep lesson for me.”
He further remarked, “Many believe that raising awareness is solely the job of the film industry, particularly Bollywood, but that mindset is flawed. This responsibility cannot rest on just one sector. The television industry, regional film industries like Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, athletes, social media influencers, and YouTubers—all those who can reach people should step up. Without collective effort, awareness cannot be fully achieved.”
Bijlani added, “When someone contributes to a social cause, it should inspire others. This mindset can bring about significant change in society. When more people come together for a good cause, the impact multiplies.”
He also highlighted the importance of prevention in combating diseases like cancer. “There is an English saying that prevention is better than cure. If a disease is detected early, treatment becomes easier. However, if ignored, it can affect not just one individual but the entire family. Therefore, regular check-ups and accurate information are crucial.”
