Kolkata, June 28: Bollywood actor Anupam Kher met with BJP leader Soumik Bhattacharya on Sunday. Their discussion touched on electoral strategies and past statements, infused with light-hearted banter. Kher referenced Bhattacharya’s earlier remark that “Anupam Kher may grow hair again, but the TMC will not return to power in Bengal.”
Bhattacharya recalled that this statement was made in the context of the election atmosphere. He explained that during elections, politicians sometimes resort to humorous and sarcastic remarks to effectively communicate with the public.
In their conversation, Bhattacharya stated, “At that time, the election environment required such remarks. People often get bored with political speeches, so we need to deliver some punchlines. Anupam Kher is well-known across India, and every child recognizes him.”
He further added, “I said the sky could fall to the ground, the ground could rise to the sky, Anupam Kher might grow hair again, but the TMC cannot come to power for the fourth time.” The meeting was filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Kher wished Bhattacharya well and jokingly requested that he refrain from praying for his hair to grow back.
Additionally, Kher shared on social media platform X about his meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. He expressed that it was an honor and a joy to meet the Chief Minister. Kher mentioned that they discussed the role of storytelling in shaping cinema, culture, and society.
The actor praised the vision of making West Bengal a prominent destination for filmmakers, artists, and creative individuals from India and around the world. He also highlighted his films, “The Kashmir Files” and “The Bengal Files,” emphasizing the need to promote cinema based on history, culture, and significant issues.
In another post, Kher shared his visit to the famous Kalighat Kali Temple in Kolkata. He expressed that visiting the temple brought him spiritual peace and blessings. He prayed for the good health, happiness, and peace of all.
He also appreciated India’s cultural diversity and the tradition of ancient temples. Kher thanked the Halder family for facilitating his visit to Kalighat and sought guidance and protection from Maa Kali for everyone.
