Lucknow, May 11: Om Prakash Rajbhar, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, has sharply criticized Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav. Rajbhar claimed that Yadav remains free from jail because he publicly opposes the BJP during the day but secretly meets with BJP leaders at night.
Rajbhar’s comments were in response to Yadav’s remarks about wealth. He stated, “Akhilesh Yadav studied in Australia, but what factories has he established? He hasn’t been chief minister for the last two terms. His tenure was marred by scams, including the mining scam, which also involves his name. Meanwhile, Gayatri Prajapati is serving time in jail, while Yadav is free.”
He further alleged, “Yadav is free because he speaks against the BJP during the day and visits PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath with bouquets at night. He does this to ensure that the BJP remains in power while the Samajwadi Party is allowed to merely voice its opinions. As long as we exist, your government will thrive.”
Rajbhar also commented on Yadav’s daily routine, claiming he wakes up at noon, posts on social media, and holds press conferences, suggesting he aims to achieve unrealistic goals.
The president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party questioned Yadav’s financial sources, saying, “He travels by chartered planes. Where does that money come from? Can he name a factory he owns? His entire family is entrenched in politics, running what he calls a ‘PDA’—which stands for ‘Family Development Authority.’ Yadav has plundered the state treasury for his own enjoyment.”
On the topic of cabinet expansion, Rajbhar challenged Yadav’s statements, saying, “What new insights is Yadav offering? There are over three dozen former legislators and ministers from the Bahujan Samaj Party in the Samajwadi Party. According to Yadav, they are acceptable. It seems that if they do something, it’s a celebration, but if we do, it’s a scandal. He should reflect on this.”
Rajbhar also addressed the internal conflicts within the Congress Party regarding the selection of a chief minister in Kerala, stating, “There is constant infighting within Congress. Many parties are trying to form a government with them, leading to numerous claimants and difficulties in negotiations.”
Additionally, he responded to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s comments about vote splitting in Bengal that benefited the BJP. Rajbhar suggested that Tharoor should observe the ground realities, noting that people were tired of the TMC and Left’s governance, which was marked by violence and corruption, prompting them to vote for the BJP.
