Lucknow, March 13: Samajwadi Party leader and MP Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the central government regarding the ongoing LPG crisis, stating that gas supplies have seemingly vanished. He remarked that if anyone is spreading rumors, it is the government itself. Yadav emphasized that if the government acknowledges the gas shortage, the public would cooperate, but the government insists there is no shortage and that gas is available in sufficient quantities.
During a media interaction in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav pointed out the stark reality: gas has become almost non-existent. Long queues for gas cylinders have formed in every city, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi. It is rare to find a district where people are not standing in these long lines. He questioned who is responsible for this situation, alleging that the government has spread the rumor that bookings can be made after a certain period. He also noted difficulties in booking gas online.
Akhilesh Yadav stated that we live in a social media era, and the government cannot hide this crisis. Restaurants are shutting down, and weddings are being postponed due to the gas shortage. He raised concerns about how people will cook if the situation worsens, and how street vendors will manage without gas. Even snack vendors are unable to prepare their dishes.
Regarding the notice for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Akhilesh Yadav expressed his party’s support, stating that the Election Commission has not been responsive to their concerns. He mentioned that their cameras in Uttar Pradesh recorded everything that transpired, alleging that the by-elections were manipulated. He vowed to raise this issue in the Lok Sabha.
On the attack against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that Abdullah is a senior leader and reiterated the need for the government to ensure his adequate security. He highlighted Abdullah’s significant role in society and his potential to guide the nation in the right direction, insisting that there should be no compromise on his safety.
