Lucknow, May 25: Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, has launched a sharp attack on the BJP government regarding the escalating electricity crisis and extreme heat in the state. He stated that BJP legislators and MPs, fearful of rising public anger, are now resorting to writing superficial letters to save their political standing.
Akhilesh accused them of not genuinely caring for the public interest. Instead, he claimed they are attempting to distance themselves from the sinking BJP ahead of the upcoming elections while the common people suffer the consequences of the electricity crisis and mismanagement.
On Monday, Akhilesh took to social media platform X to express that the unbearable ‘Maha Vidyut Aapda’ in Uttar Pradesh is driving BJP lawmakers to write these ‘paper shields’ as a means of self-preservation. He emphasized that these letters are not genuine appeals for public welfare but rather applications to secure tickets from the opposition for the upcoming elections.
He remarked that there is no place in their alliance for leaders who offer nothing but pain and difficulties to the public. The plight of families, especially the elderly, sick, children, and women struggling for food and water during this deadly heat, is something only those directly affected can truly understand.
Akhilesh further stated that those who seek opportunities in disasters have now found an ‘officer’ who is proving to be a disaster himself. He questioned how problems could be resolved when those responsible merely raise their hands in surrender instead of seeking solutions. Why should the public bear the brunt of the BJP’s internal conflicts?
He suggested that it is a significant opportunity for someone to remove a ‘failed minister’ who has long been a thorn in the side. This could allow for a cabinet expansion, providing a chance to accommodate one of the ‘sympathetic’ individuals who have merely been waiting in vain, unable to express their regrets over their political demise.
Akhilesh concluded by stating that the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh knows it will never return to power. Therefore, it is entirely ignoring the difficulties and demands of the public, focusing solely on filling its coffers.
