Ajit Pawar Was Set to Take Key Decisions, Says Kiran Gujar

Pune: Kiran Gujar, a close and trusted associate of the late Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, made a heartfelt revelation on Thursday about his final days and political intentions.

Following Ajit Pawar’s death in the Baramati plane crash, questions arose in the state’s political landscape. Gujar shared that Ajit Pawar’s last wish was to make some important decisions, which were meant to be fulfilled soon.

Kiran Gujar said, “This was Dada’s last wish. He had decided that the time had come for this to happen, and it must happen now. Even five days ago, he told me, ‘Kiran, this must happen now. We will do it now.’”

Gujar added that given the political situation, Ajit Pawar was determined to take significant decisions. He hinted that while there were ongoing discussions and comments at the time, the main point was not whether the decision was made or not, but rather Ajit Pawar’s intent and the circumstances then.

Expressing concern over Baramati’s political scenario, Gujar said, “I may not know about the entire Maharashtra, but as far as Baramati is concerned, I am not sure how things will be. One Dada has left, and the other Dada (Sharad Pawar) cannot yet take charge in Baramati.”

He indicated that Ajit Pawar’s demise could disturb the balance between the NCP (Ajit faction) and NCP (Sharad faction) in Baramati. The region has always been a stronghold of the Pawar family, but now, the lack of leadership has created uncertainty among party workers.

Kiran Gujar revealed that Ajit Pawar remained very active in his final days, focusing on the state’s development, agricultural reforms, and strengthening the party organisation. Before the plane crash, he had participated in several meetings discussing future plans. Gujar emotionally stated that Dada’s passing is a major loss not only for the family but also for Maharashtra’s political landscape. He appealed to party workers to uphold Ajit Pawar’s legacy and strengthen Baramati.
