New Delhi, April 14: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has strongly condemned the alleged racist behavior during a recent Indian Super League (ISL) match, reiterating its firm stance against discrimination. The AIFF confirmed that the matter has been referred to the disciplinary committee for investigation.
The controversy arose following an ISL match between Kerala Blasters FC and Bengaluru FC at the Sri Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday. A viral video surfaced showing a fan making racist remarks towards Kerala Blasters defender Fallou Ndiaye. This clip quickly spread across social media, raising significant concerns and criticism regarding player safety and fan behavior in Indian football.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, the AIFF acknowledged receiving complaints about alleged racist behavior during the ISL 2025-26 season. The federation stands firmly with players and all individuals entitled to participate in football without facing discrimination.
The statement read, “The AIFF maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards racism. Complaints have been forwarded to the disciplinary committee, an independent judicial body, for investigation according to the AIFF’s disciplinary code. The AIFF will not make any further comments until the proceedings are concluded.”
The AIFF emphasized, “The Indian football family stands united against racism. There is no place in our sport for those who bring hatred into our stadiums.”
Kerala Blasters also issued a strong statement condemning the incident, labeling it disgraceful. The club informed that the incident has been officially reported to ISL and AIFF officials, reaffirming its commitment to uphold the integrity and respect of its players.
