Ahmedabad Ready to Host Commonwealth Games 2030, Says Harsh Sanghvi

Glasgow, August 2: The Commonwealth Games 2030 are set to take place in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Currently, Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi is in Glasgow, where the Commonwealth Games 2026 are being held. During the closing ceremony, Ahmedabad will be officially announced as the host city for the Commonwealth Games 2030, and Sanghvi will be present for this significant moment.
In a media interaction, Sanghvi expressed, “It has been a matter of pride for me to represent Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and India at Glasgow 2026 over the past two weeks. I am delighted to share my thoughts before returning home. We have witnessed something truly special during this time—not just a competition, but a celebration of human potential, courage, and the beautiful spirit of sports.”
He added, “The Gujarat delegation had a tremendous opportunity to observe the delivery of the Glasgow Games in action. Through the Future Host Observer Program, we explored the venues, studied the seamless coordination among partners, and saw how the city prepares to welcome the world. We have established strong business partnerships with Scotland and the Commonwealth. Through the Ahmedabad Experience Center, we shared India’s vision, giving the Glasgow 2026 family a glimpse of what awaits them in 2030.”
Sanghvi emphasized, “This is a sacred responsibility that we embrace with great gratitude. Ahmedabad is ready. Our city is filled with possibilities. We have an integrated transport system, modern accommodations, and community collaboration woven into our society. Our venues are designed to minimize travel and maximize the athlete experience.”
He concluded by thanking the Commonwealth sports community and the Glasgow organizing team. “We have been in constant communication with the Glasgow team over the past few months, and they have always supported us.”
