Bihar Couple Transforms Lives Through Noodle Business, Creating Jobs for Locals

A couple in Sheikhpura has started a noodle business through a government scheme, creating jobs and improving their familys financial situation.

Sheikhpura, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : Sanjay Kumar and his wife, Ranjana Kumari, from Khalilchak village in Sheikhpura district, have dramatically changed their lives by leveraging the Prime Minister’s Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme. With government support, they launched a noodle manufacturing business that now employs ten people. This initiative not only fosters financial independence for their family but also creates job opportunities for others in the community.

Ranjana, who now manages the Smriti Noodles company, shared her story with a news agency. She recalled a time when rising inflation made it challenging to cover family expenses and fund their children’s education. With their financial situation unstable, she sought to start a business. Upon learning about the PMFME scheme, she applied for assistance, paving the way for her entrepreneurial journey.

Once a homemaker, Ranjana now oversees the business and earns a stable income, significantly improving her family’s financial health. Her children are benefiting from better educational opportunities, with her daughter achieving commendable academic success.

Currently, their unit employs ten individuals, both men and women. Expressing gratitude towards the Prime Minister, Ranjana emphasized that this initiative has been a lifeline for women like her. Without timely information and support from the scheme, she might not have been able to start her venture. Today, she stands on her own feet, fulfilling her family’s responsibilities more effectively.

Dev Anand Kumar, an employee at the noodle company, shared his previous experience working in Ghaziabad while searching for employment. He expressed joy at finding a job closer to home, making work more convenient. Although his family resides in Ghaziabad, he plans to bring them to Sheikhpura in the future.

Sanjay Kumar explained that while Ranjana aspired to start a business, rising costs and household expenses posed significant challenges. The discovery of the PMFME scheme enabled them to acquire machinery and commence noodle production.

According to Sanjay, this venture has given Ranjana a new identity. They now receive orders from nearby areas, including Nalanda, Nawada, and Rajgir. This success has fueled their ambition to expand the business and provide even more job opportunities in the future.
