Aditya Thackeray Accuses Eknath Shinde of Shielding Conspirators in Pradeep Purnekar Murder Case

Aditya Thackeray claims Eknath Shinde is protecting key suspects in the murder of Shiv Sena leader Pradeep Purnekar.

Thane, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : Aditya Thackeray, a legislator from Shiv Sena (UBT), has leveled serious allegations against Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, claiming he is eager to protect former Thane Mayor Meenakshi Shinde in the murder case of Shiv Sena leader Pradeep Purnekar.

During a press conference in Thane, Thackeray accused the police of only arresting hired killers while the main conspirators remain at large. He insisted that without the arrest of Meenakshi and Rajendra Shinde, the true plot would not come to light.

“We demand the swift arrest of the primary accused and conspirators,” Thackeray stated. “We fail to understand why they are being protected. When we met with the police commissioner, it was clear they know who the main perpetrator is.”

Following a meeting with the Thane police commissioner, Thackeray held a press conference alongside Purnekar’s son Ram, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, and other Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders. Earlier, Thackeray had visited Purnekar’s home to meet his widow.

Despite having CCTV footage as evidence, Thackeray expressed frustration over the lack of arrests. “What are you waiting for? This is a political murder, supported by CCTV evidence. Why aren’t the main conspirators being apprehended? Why is Eknath Shinde so eager to shield them?” he questioned.

Thackeray criticized Shinde, who is also the guardian minister of Thane, for detaining Ram Purnekar, who sought action regarding his father’s murder. “We came to Thane solely to meet the Purnekar family and the police commissioner. However, the local MP resorted to abusive language and attempted to intimidate us,” he said.

He also slammed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Home Minister for their failure to deliver justice to the Purnekar family. “Instead of addressing these issues, the Home Minister is busy with party splits and selling off the Sahyadri mountain ranges,” Thackeray remarked.

Sanjay Raut further criticized CM Fadnavis, stating that Maharashtra has never seen such a weak Home Minister. He warned those who challenged their presence in Thane, stating, “We are not just here today; we will wait until we confront you. Do not take pride in your power, as it won’t last forever. Meenakshi and Rajendra Shinde are the main accused, and the public is taking to the streets to demand justice.” He insisted that the police must arrest both individuals.

Tensions continue to rise in Thane as the investigation into Purnekar’s murder unfolds, with calls for accountability growing louder.
