Rajasthan Government Issues Charge Sheet Against Senior IAS Officer for Controversial Facebook Posts

Rajasthans Pankaj Ojha faces disciplinary action for allegedly sharing inflammatory posts on Facebook. He denies the allegations, claiming they are fabrications.

Jaipur, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : The Rajasthan government has initiated disciplinary proceedings against senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Pankaj Ojha, issuing a charge sheet following allegations of sharing caste-based and politically sensitive posts on Facebook in October 2025.

The Personnel Department has instructed Ojha to submit his response within 15 days, warning that failure to comply could result in unilateral action. Currently serving as the Additional Director in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ojha has denied all accusations, asserting that fake screenshots have been circulated in his name.

According to the charge sheet, Ojha allegedly posted inflammatory and politically sensitive content on his Facebook account, ‘RAS Pankaj Ojha,’ on multiple dates in October 2025 while he was the Director of the Animal Husbandry Department. The Personnel Department received complaints about his ethnic and communal comments, prompting a request for clarification on January 19, 2026. The department claims no response was received to that notice.

The charge sheet states that some posts contained derogatory and unparliamentary language directed at the Prime Minister and various current and former chief ministers. The department argued that such content could disrupt social and religious harmony and does not align with the expected conduct of a government officer.

It alleges violations of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1971, and claims that Ojha’s actions have adversely affected the image of both the government and the department. One specific post from October 25, 2025, questioned the central government‘s caste-based census policy, suggesting that data on caste-based taxpayers and crimes should also be made public to assess contributions.

Ojha has categorically rejected the allegations, stating he did not make any offensive posts and that the screenshots attributed to him were fabricated. He claims to be a victim of this situation. On December 29, 2025, he wrote to the Personnel Secretary and Chief Secretary requesting action on the matter and also approached the Jaipur Police Commissioner to file a complaint.

He reported that a complaint was lodged at the Ashok Nagar police station, and the case is under investigation. Ojha asserts that he submitted a detailed response through the state government’s ‘Rajkaaj’ portal on January 27, 2026, clarifying that the alleged posts were fake and created in his name, and he possesses a receipt for his submission.

Currently, the matter is in the disciplinary action phase, with the government seeking a response while Ojha continues to label the accusations as baseless, claiming he is the target of a conspiracy.
