Leaders Across India Celebrate Karwa Chauth with Tradition and Devotion

Political leaders and families across India celebrated Karwa Chauth, honoring traditions and their loved ones with heartfelt rituals.

New Delhi, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : Across India, the festival of Karwa Chauth was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor. Political leaders and their families participated in the festivities, showcasing rich cultural practices. In Shimla, Chief Minister Sukhu and his wife Kamlesh Thakur observed the fast together. Meanwhile, Sadhana Thakur, wife of opposition leader Jairam Thakur, also fasted for her husband’s long life.

The celebrations extended to various states, including Bihar, where Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar’s residence hosted a Karwa Chauth gathering. His wife performed rituals wishing for his longevity and prosperity, culminating in a ceremonial breaking of the fast after moonrise. This event highlighted the love, trust, and family traditions shared between spouses.

In Bhopal, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s wife, Sadhana Singh Chouhan, celebrated the occasion alongside her husband, following traditional customs as they viewed the moon together. In Delhi, BJP MPs Praveen Khandelwal and Manoj Tiwari marked the day with their families at home.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his wife Geeta Dhami also observed the festival, adhering to traditional practices. In Lucknow, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak hosted a Karwa Chauth event, attended by BJP MP Ravi Kishan, who expressed gratitude for the invitation. He noted that he refrained from eating, consuming only coffee and water during the day, and planned to fast without water next year alongside his wife.

Despite cloudy weather in Lucknow obscuring the moon, rituals were performed, and the couple navigated the challenge of breaking the fast without visual confirmation of the moon. The day reflected a commitment to tradition and love shared between couples across the nation.
