Nitish Kumars Two Decades in Power to Be Celebrated as Good Governance Day on November 24

The Janata Dal (United) plans to celebrate Nitish Kumars 20 years as Chief Minister with events highlighting developmental achievements.

Patna, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : The Janata Dal (United) is gearing up to celebrate ‘Good Governance Day’ on November 24, marking the 20th anniversary of Nitish Kumar’s tenure as Chief Minister of Bihar. This event will spotlight the significant developments and welfare schemes initiated during his time in office since he took office in 2005.

To commemorate this milestone, the party will organize state-level ‘Nitish Dialogue’ programs aimed at showcasing Kumar’s achievements in social reforms and public welfare initiatives. A preparatory meeting was held on Thursday at the party’s state headquarters in Patna, specifically in the Karpoori Hall.

During the meeting, chaired by state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, discussions centered on the event’s framework, preparations, and responsibilities for its successful execution. Attendees included Janata Dal (United) national executive president Sanjay Kumar Jha, state ministers Leshi Singh and Shweta Gupta, and several other party officials.

In addition, representatives from various party wings, district presidents, and legislators were present. Leshi Singh has been appointed as the coordinator for the event. Jha emphasized the importance of highlighting the achievements of Kumar’s government over the past two decades and their impact on people’s lives.

He referenced initiatives such as the bicycle scheme, livelihood self-help groups, and entrepreneurship programs, urging party leaders to gather beneficiary stories and create videos showcasing their experiences. Jha portrayed Kumar as both a political leader and a social reformer, citing initiatives like ‘human chains’ aimed at raising awareness about social issues.

Kushwaha noted the significant challenges Bihar faced in law and order, education, health, employment, and infrastructure when Kumar assumed office in 2005. He stated that the government has since focused on improving governance and delivering welfare schemes, prioritizing outreach to marginalized communities.

He instructed district presidents to form preparation committees, coordinate with various party wings, and allocate responsibilities. The programs are expected to include participants from diverse groups, such as farmers, students, women, social workers, and beneficiaries of reservation policies and pension schemes.

Identifying beneficiaries of government schemes is crucial, as they will be invited to share how these initiatives have impacted their lives. Leshi Singh remarked that this event represents a significant opportunity for the party to highlight Kumar’s contributions to Bihar’s development and the welfare of its various communities. She assured the leadership that preparations would be completed with the involvement of party leaders and workers.
