Adil Hussain Praises Sridevis Simplicity and Professionalism

Mumbai, June 16: The late actress Sridevi captured the hearts of millions with her beauty and powerful performances. Her popularity extended beyond India, yet she remained humble throughout her career. Actor Adil Hussain recently shared his experiences working with Sridevi.

He noted that despite her immense success, her demeanor was remarkably down-to-earth, setting her apart from others in the industry.

Adil Hussain’s film ’52 Blue’ is set to be showcased at the London Indian Film Festival from July 9 to July 19. During this time, he reflected on his cinematic journey and his experiences with Sridevi.

Speaking about their collaboration, Adil said, “’English Vinglish’ was my third Hindi film. At that time, I was new to Hindi cinema and striving to advance my career. Working with a legendary actress like Sridevi felt like a dream come true.”

He continued, “By then, Sridevi had acted in nearly 300 films and was recognized as a superstar. Yet, she never exhibited any arrogance about her stardom. Her humility is what I remember most fondly. During scene shoots, Sridevi often engaged in discussions. If she had an idea, she would share it and seek feedback from others. I, too, offered suggestions, which she listened to attentively.”

Adil emphasized that Sridevi was always open to new ideas. She believed that a great scene is the result of collective effort. This experience was particularly special for him as a newcomer, as he never expected such a prominent artist to value his input. This quality distinguished her from other artists.

During the conversation, Adil also shared his thoughts on the film industry’s dynamics. He remarked, “There is often a noticeable distance between big stars and new artists in the film world. Newcomers sometimes struggle to voice their opinions and are limited to following instructions. However, that is not the case everywhere. Sridevi was entirely different; she never made me feel like a newcomer. Instead, she always treated me with equal respect.”
