Mumbai, June 23: Adani Mundra Airport has announced the launch of its first regular flight service, aimed at enhancing the economic potential of the Kutch region in Gujarat. This new service connects Kutch directly to Mumbai and Goa.
In partnership with Star Air, this air connectivity is seen as a significant step towards transforming Kutch into a fully integrated multi-modal logistics and business hub.
Starting Tuesday, Star Air will operate eight new flight services from a state-of-the-art terminal, significantly reducing travel time for business, industry, logistics, and tourism. This development is expected to further accelerate economic activities at Mundra, India’s largest port.
In addition to Mumbai and Goa, Star Air will connect Mundra with cities such as Hindon, Surat, Belagavi, Bengaluru, Kolhapur, and Nanded. The inauguration of this major airport was conducted by Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL).
Through this airport, the Adani Group aims to establish a strong synergy between its port and aviation businesses. The company believes that this airport will play a crucial role in the development of trade, industry, and tourism in Kutch.
According to the company, Mundra Airport has been developed with future needs in mind. It features a 1,900-meter runway capable of accommodating various types of passenger and cargo aircraft. The modern terminal includes ample parking space, multiple check-in counters, comfortable lounges, and a full-service food court.
The airport is also designed to be accessible for people with disabilities, offering wheelchair facilities and a special drop-off zone for passengers.
This air connectivity will further strengthen the economic activities of Mundra Port, the largest private port in India, and the country’s largest notified and operated multi-product Mundra SEZ, which serves as a key hub for India’s import-export activities.
The new connectivity will facilitate faster and more efficient movement of commercial goods and help establish better coordination with national and global supply chains.
This initiative will leverage the Adani Group’s experience gained from operating eight major international airports across the country, including Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangaluru, and Guwahati.
