Actress Kunika Sadanand Comments on Diljit Dosanjhs Concert Cancellation

Actress Kunika Sadanand expresses concerns over the cancellation of Diljit Dosanjhs concert due to security issues in Delhi.

Mumbai, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Kunika Sadanand recently spoke out regarding the cancellation of singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Delhi. She suggested that the government must have received some information that led to the decision to cancel the event.

In a conversation, Sadanand expressed her concerns about the security of artists in the country. “In our nation, especially for artists, security is essential. We see incidents involving celebrities happening frequently. If Diljit Dosanjh’s concert was canceled due to security reasons, then the administration must have received some kind of information,” she stated.

She added that she is unaware of the specific reasons behind the cancellation. “I don’t know who canceled the concert—whether it was the government or Diljit Dosanjh himself. If it was the government, they must have some information that prompted them to take this safety measure,” she said.

The concert, part of Dosanjh’s ‘Aura India Tour,’ was scheduled for October 30, 2026, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. However, the Delhi Police canceled the event, citing security concerns and the absence of necessary permissions.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police for the South District communicated with the ticket booking platform ‘Book My Show,’ informing them that the concert would not receive approval. The police indicated that the cancellation was due to inputs regarding security threats, the need for enhanced safety during the festival season, and responsibilities related to law and order.

Originally, the concert was set for November 1 but was rescheduled to October 30 following a request from MP Vikramjeet Sahni, who sought to respect the sentiments of the victims of the 1984 Sikh riots. However, due to the lack of police approval, it had to be canceled.
