Abhishek shone brightly in the Asia Cup T20I Tournament, amassing 314 runs in seven matches at an average of 44.85 and an impressive strike rate of 200. His consistent performances earned him the Player of the Tournament title and a career-best 931 rating points in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings — the highest ever achieved. He edged out teammate Kuldeep Yadav and Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett to win the award.

Expressing his delight, Abhishek said, “Winning this award is a wonderful feeling. I’m happy to have contributed to the team’s success in crucial matches. The mindset and culture of this team are exceptional — it helps us perform even in tough situations. I thank the management and all my teammates for their support.”

In women’s cricket, India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was honoured for her outstanding performance in the home ODI series against Australia. She scored 58, 117, and 125 in three innings, tallying 308 runs at an average of 77 and a strike rate of 135.68. Mandhana also set a record for the fastest century by an Indian woman, reaching the milestone in just 50 balls during the third ODI.

She surpassed South Africa’s Tazmin Brits and Pakistan’s Sidra Ameen to clinch the honour.

Reacting to her win, Mandhana said, “It’s a great honour to receive the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award. This recognition motivates me to perform even better. It reflects the collective effort and belief within our team. My focus has always been on contributing to India’s victories.”

The ICC selected the winners based on votes from global fans and an expert panel, which included former international cricketers and media representatives.
