
Guwahati, March 15: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections. Announced on Sunday, the list features 14 candidates contesting from various assembly constituencies across the state.
According to the official announcement, significant seats from different regions have been included. The party shared this information via its official ‘X’ account.
In the list, Achyut Das has been nominated for the Naoboicha (75) seat, while Pulin Gogoi will contest from Dergaon (104). Jarbom Kutum is set to run from Gohpur (72), and Anurupa Dekaraja will represent Central Guwahati (36).
The party has also nominated Ashish Hazarika from Khumtai (106), Tapan Gogoi from Sivasagar (96), and Tikendra Thapa from Rongnadi (74). Additionally, Zahidul Islam Khan will contest from Chenga (23), and Ranjit Boro from Nadau (69).
Other candidates include Pallav Saikia from Titabar (102), Jinna Amir Hussain from East Goalpara (14), Barun Bikas Das from Raha (61), and Renuka Timungpi from Bokajan (108). Ananta Gogoi will contest from the Vishwanath (70) seat.
This list has been issued with the signature of Rajesh Sharma, the party’s state in-charge. The selection of these candidates was based on local political conditions, organizational activity, and their rapport with the public.
Party sources indicate that more candidates for the remaining seats will be announced in the coming days. AAP has been focusing on strengthening its organization in Assam over the past few years, aiming to enhance its political presence in this election.
