Zimbabwes Struggling Batting Leaves India with a Modest Target of 103 Runs
In the second T20 match, Zimbabwe falters with a score of 102/8, setting India a target of just 103 runs.

Raipur, October 18 (Daily Kiran) : In the ongoing second T20 match at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, Zimbabwe’s batting lineup faltered against India’s disciplined bowling attack. The visitors managed to score only 102 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Zimbabwe’s start was sluggish. The opening pair of Kelis Ndhlovu and Bilwede Biza could only muster 10 runs in 3.3 overs. Nandini Sharma struck early, bowling out Ndhlovu, who faced 11 balls without scoring.
Following this, Biza and Chippo Mugeri-Tiripano struggled to build momentum, adding just 10 runs for the second wicket in 16 balls. Biza managed only 7 runs off 13 balls before the team lost its third wicket at a mere 30 runs with Sharn Meyers scoring 9.
From that point, Zimbabwe faced mounting pressure. Mugeri-Tiripano and captain Josephine Nkomo attempted to stabilize the innings with a partnership of 45 runs for the fourth wicket off 36 balls. However, Niki Prasad’s breakthrough in the 15th over, claiming the wickets of Tiripano and Nyasha Gwanjura (0), plunged the visitors further into trouble. Nkomo later added 19 runs with Modester Mupachikwa for the sixth wicket off 20 balls.
Only two Zimbabwean batsmen reached double figures. Tiripano scored 34 runs off 32 balls, featuring five boundaries, while captain Nkomo remained unbeaten with 27 runs off 35 balls. Prasad was the standout bowler for India, taking 2 wickets for just 7 runs in 2 overs, while Kranti Gaud, Nandini Sharma, Deepti Sharma, and Shree Charani each claimed one wicket.
India’s playing XI included Smriti Mandhana (captain), Shefali Verma, Anushka Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Niki Prasad, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper), Arundhati Reddy, Shree Charani, Nandini Sharma, and Kranti Gaud.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe’s squad consisted of Kelis Ndhlovu, Bilwede Biza, Modester Mupachikwa (wicketkeeper), Sharn Meyers, Nyasha Gwanjura, Michelle Mavunga, Chippo Mugeri-Tiripano, Francisca Chipare, Josephine Nkomo (captain), Olinder Chare, and Tendai Mukusha.
