Delhi Police Issues Fact Check on Viral Videos Related to November 1 Event

Delhi Police debunks misleading videos linked to the November 1 rally, urging citizens to verify information before sharing.

New Delhi, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Police have released a fact check addressing misleading videos circulating on social media. These videos, according to the police, are old and unrelated to a proposed event scheduled for November 1, 2026.

The police clarified that certain social media accounts are falsely associating outdated footage of trains and railway stations with the upcoming event, creating confusion among the public. They emphasized that these viral videos do not reflect the current situation.

Reports suggest that there is a narrative spreading on social media claiming large crowds are traveling to Delhi for the event. However, the police reiterated that the videos in question are not connected to the planned gathering.

The police urged citizens to verify the authenticity and context of any videos or information before sharing them online. They cautioned against spreading rumors and misleading information that could create a false impression of mass movement towards the national capital.

On November 1, a significant rally organized by the opposition coalition, INDIA, is set to take place at Ram Leela Maidan in New Delhi. This rally, supported by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, aims to protest against alleged electoral malpractices and “vote theft.”

Banerjee has called on students, youth, women, workers, and civil society members via social media platform X to join the rally. She stated that this fight is crucial to protect the right to vote and demanded accountability for alleged electoral irregularities across various states, including West Bengal.

She raised concerns regarding the reliability of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), voter data, the transparency of voter lists, and the vote counting process. Banerjee urged people to unite in defense of democracy and the Constitution. Similarly, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also encouraged participation in the ‘Chalo Delhi Ram Leela March’ to address these issues.

In response to this opposition mobilization, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a campaign titled “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy,” starting on October 31. The BJP aims to counter the allegations made by the opposition through this initiative.
