New Delhi, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of exhibiting a troubling tendency to undermine constitutional institutions. Reddy noted that Gandhi praises these bodies only when they align with his interests but disparages them when they do not.
In a recent statement, Reddy claimed that Gandhi’s actions reflect the Congress party’s desperation, as they attempt to weaken the credibility of essential democratic institutions like the Election Commission, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), the judiciary, and Parliament. He asserted that the current allegations against the Election Commission are part of a broader political conspiracy by the Congress party to gain electoral advantage through false accusations.
Reddy highlighted that the Congress party has repeatedly spread misinformation, incited political movements, and created fear among the public, aiming to cast doubt on the operations of these legal institutions. He described Gandhi’s behavior as reminiscent of a political ploy, suggesting that the public is becoming increasingly aware of the Congress party’s tactics, which include protests and derogatory language aimed at constitutional officials.
Addressing Gandhi directly, Reddy remarked, “Dear Rahul Gandhi, if the public has consistently rejected you in elections, it is not the fault of the Election Commission. Its role is to conduct free and fair elections, not to ensure your rise to power.” He emphasized that it is Gandhi’s responsibility to earn the trust and support of the electorate, a task he has evidently failed to accomplish.
Reddy also pointed out that Gandhi tends to criticize the Supreme Court when its decisions do not favor him, questioning its credibility. He stated that the judiciary’s duty is to provide impartial justice, not to deliver favorable rulings for any political leader.
In addition, Reddy criticized Gandhi for his remarks regarding the CAG’s report on the Rafale fighter jet deal, suggesting that Gandhi’s attempts to undermine the report were unfounded and politically motivated. He accused Gandhi of tarnishing the reputation of reputable educational institutions like IITs and Central universities by labeling them as centers of corruption.
Moreover, Reddy condemned Gandhi for using international platforms and foreign media to advance his political agenda, which he argued has damaged India’s reputation abroad. He accused Gandhi of alleging the decline of India’s democratic system and economy, thereby obstructing the nation’s growth and investment prospects.
Reddy concluded by recalling past incidents, such as Gandhi publicly humiliating former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and disrespecting the legacy of senior Congress leader P.V. Narasimha Rao, asserting that these actions have not been forgotten by the public.
