Police Clash with Criminals in Noidas Sector 63; Two Injured, Two Arrested

A police operation in Noida led to a shootout with criminals, resulting in two injuries and the arrest of four suspects.

Noida, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : In a dramatic encounter late Sunday night in Noida’s Sector 63, police clashed with a group of criminals, injuring two suspects. The police also apprehended two additional accomplices during a combing operation. Authorities recovered illegal firearms, ammunition, knives, and two motorcycles believed to have been used in a robbery.

According to police reports, the suspects were riding two motorcycles as they prepared to commit a crime. When officers conducting a routine check at the Sector 62 roundabout signaled for them to stop, the criminals attempted to flee. This prompted the police to pursue them.

The suspects fled through the S-Block intersection and into a green belt area. As police attempted to corner them near the Behlolpur underpass, the criminals opened fire. In response, officers returned fire in self-defense, injuring two of the suspects in the process.

Following the shootout, police launched a combing operation in the area, successfully capturing two additional suspects, identified as Shankar Sharma and Kapil Kashyap. All four individuals are now in custody.

Recovered from the suspects were two illegal firearms, ammunition, and knives. The motorcycles used in the robbery were also seized.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects lured victims under the pretense of offering rides on their motorcycles before robbing them. Authorities are currently reviewing the suspects’ extensive criminal histories and gathering information on previous cases against them.

DCP Praveen Ranjan Singh stated that police teams are actively conducting checks and taking action against criminals as per directives from the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration. The recent operation at the Sector 62 roundabout was part of these ongoing efforts. Police are now interrogating the suspects to uncover their network and potential involvement in other crimes.
