Xiaomi Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7L Launches Globally with 10 Cooking Modes

Mumbai, April 15: Xiaomi is set to introduce another innovative kitchen gadget to global markets. The new Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7L merges air frying with steam cooking and even includes support for sous vide-style cooking.

This model may sound familiar, as Xiaomi previously launched a similar version in China. However, this iteration increases the capacity to 7 liters, making it ideal for larger meals or batch cooking.

In terms of features, this air fryer is quite versatile. Xiaomi boasts 10 cooking modes, including steaming, fermenting, dehydrating, defrosting, and reheating. The sous vide functionality is particularly noteworthy. Traditionally, sous vide requires a separate water bath setup, but Xiaomi appears to have integrated a 1.5L water tank to achieve a similar effect. While specific details are still emerging, it likely relates to how the device manages steam and temperature control.

Regarding temperature settings, the fryer accommodates a wide range from 40°C to 230°C, enabling both low-temperature cooking and high-heat roasting. For steaming, it can reach approximately 130°C, which should expedite cooking compared to standard steamers.

Additionally, there is a hybrid mode that combines hot air and steam, designed to keep food moist on the inside while achieving a crispy finish on the outside.

On the smart technology front, it supports HyperOS Connect, allowing users to control the fryer via the Xiaomi Home app. This includes remote setting adjustments, recipe browsing, and integration with Google Home for voice commands.

When compared to Xiaomi’s existing models, such as the 6.5L version available in certain markets, this new model represents a significant upgrade in flexibility rather than merely an increase in size.

As of now, there is no confirmed global pricing or release date. However, if it becomes available in markets like Europe, it could serve as an excellent option for those looking to consolidate multiple kitchen appliances into one device.
