Mumbai, March 20: After a four-year absence from the laptop market, Xiaomi has unveiled its latest device, the Xiaomi Book Pro 14, during its Spring New Product Launch Event. Alongside this laptop, the company also introduced a new smartwatch.
The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 is designed to be both slim and lightweight, weighing in at just 1.08 kg and measuring 14.95 mm in thickness. This impressive weight reduction is attributed to its unibody die-cast magnesium alloy chassis, which is approximately 30% lighter than traditional designs.
Additionally, the laptop features a carbon fiber bottom cover, a titanium alloy keyboard support plate, and graphene aluminum alloy components for enhanced cooling. Xiaomi has also incorporated a velvet-textured finish, providing a softer touch while minimizing fingerprints. The device will be available in several colors: Soft Fog Blue, Elegant Gray, Creamy White, and Soft Light Pink.
Powerful Performance with Intel Core Ultra X7 Chip
Performance-wise, the Book Pro 14 offers three configurations: Intel Core Ultra 5 325, Core Ultra 5 338H, and Core Ultra X7 358H. To support this performance, Xiaomi has included a large vapor chamber cooling system, dual fans, and a three-channel thermal setup capable of sustaining up to 50W.
The display features a 14.6-inch OLED touchscreen with a stunning 3.1K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. Below the display, users will find a spacious keyboard deck and a relatively large pressure-sensitive touchpad measuring 129 cm².
The laptop also offers flexibility with a spare M.2 2280 slot that supports up to 4TB of storage. Essential ports include Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
With a 72Wh battery, the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 claims a runtime of up to 19.8 hours. This includes 12.4 hours of video streaming and 15.8 hours of online meetings, although actual usage may vary. A 100W GaN charger is included in the package.
On the software front, Xiaomi is enhancing its ecosystem. The laptop supports remote shutdown and wake features and can connect seamlessly with Xiaomi tablets for cross-device file transfers and document editing.
