The upcoming Xiaomi 17 Ultra has inched closer to its launch as its satellite communication variant has received Radio certification in China. This version also includes UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology for improved device connectivity within Xiaomi’s growing smart ecosystem. The certification follows earlier listings of the global and Indian variants on the IMEI database, carrying model numbers 2512BPNDAG and 2512BPNDAI, respectively. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to debut in China during Q1 2026.

Rumoured Specifications

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra continues the brand’s Ultra tradition with a heavy focus on photography. Leaks suggest it will feature a quad-camera setup, including:

  • Main: 50MP Omnivision OV50X (1-inch sensor)

  • Ultra-wide: 50MP Samsung JN5

  • Telephoto: 50MP Samsung JN5

  • Periscope telephoto: 200MP ISOCELL HP5

If confirmed, this will mark Xiaomi’s first use of an Omnivision 1-inch sensor, boasting 1.6μm pixels and 110dB single-exposure HDR for enhanced clarity and dynamic range.

The front of the device is expected to sport a 6.85-inch LTPO OLED display with 2K resolution and ultra-narrow bezels, reportedly slimmer than those on the latest iPhone. Under the hood, it will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, backed by fast wired and wireless charging, IP-rated water resistance, and a large-capacity battery.

In addition to the smartphone, Xiaomi is also expected to unveil its first NAS (Network-Attached Storage) device alongside the 17 Ultra, signaling a stronger push into the connected ecosystem space.
