Beijing, February 12: On the occasion of the traditional Chinese festival marking the Year of the Horse, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, welcomed the New Year with non-CPC members at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Xi extended heartfelt wishes and congratulations on behalf of the CPC Central Committee to all democratic parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, non-party figures, and members of the United Front.

During the event, He Wei, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, delivered a speech representing various democratic parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and non-party figures. In response, Xi remarked that 2025 was an extraordinary year. Facing profound and complex changes in domestic and international circumstances, the CPC Central Committee united the entire party and people from all ethnic groups across the country, overcoming difficulties through hard work, successfully achieving the main goals and tasks of economic and social development.

Xi also noted that after five years of relentless efforts, the “14th Five-Year Plan” (2021-2025) has been successfully completed. The country’s economic strength, scientific and technological capabilities, national defense power, and overall national strength have reached new heights, and Chinese-style modernization has taken new and solid steps forward. These achievements were not easily attained; they are the result of the strong leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and the collective efforts of all ethnic groups, including democratic parties and non-party figures.

Xi emphasized that 2026 marks the first year of the “15th Five-Year Plan” (2026-2030). He expressed hope that all democratic parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and non-party figures would closely focus on implementing the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, actively fulfill their duties, and strive for new achievements.

He urged all non-CPC members to strengthen political guidance, unite all forces for struggle, focus on the main tasks, serve the overall situation, and better showcase the new image of parties and forces participating in the Chinese socialist system while seriously enhancing their own development.
