Jaipur, October 15 (Daily Kiran): The nip of winter has arrived early in Rajasthan, with night temperatures dipping below 20°C across most parts of the state by mid-October. The Shekhawati region, in particular, witnessed a noticeable drop, recording night temperatures below 14°C, giving residents the first feel of winter.
Sikar emerged as the coldest location on Tuesday night with a minimum temperature of 13.7°C, accompanied by cool breezes that made the weather feel even colder.
According to data from the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperatures were — Nagaur 14.9°C, Pilani 15.7°C, Ajmer and Bhilwara 16.4°C, Tonk-Vanasthali 16.5°C, Chittorgarh 16.8°C, Dausa 16.2°C, Alwar and Udaipur 17.4°C, Jodhpur 17.6°C, Churu 17.5°C, Jaipur 18.3°C, and Kota 18.8°C. Except for Barmer and Jaisalmer in western Rajasthan, nights have turned noticeably cooler across the state.
While days remain sunny and slightly warm with maximum temperatures ranging between 30°C and 36°C, the contrast between day and night temperatures is becoming more pronounced. On Tuesday, Barmer was the warmest at 36.4°C, followed by Jaisalmer (36°C), Bikaner (35.8°C), Sriganganagar (35.7°C), Jodhpur (34.4°C), and Pilani (34.1°C).
In contrast, Jaipur recorded 30.4°C, Ajmer 31.8°C, Bhilwara 31.9°C, and Udaipur 30.2°C, keeping daytime conditions mildly warm.
The Met Department has forecast dry weather across Rajasthan for the next week, with slight fluctuations in temperature. Nights are expected to get progressively cooler, while daytime warmth will persist.
