Mumbai, March 9: Vivo is set to launch the Vivo X300 Ultra later this month, and there are hints that the Vivo X300 Max might also make an appearance. However, Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao has confirmed that there will be no Vivo X300 Max. Instead, the device will debut under the name Vivo X300s, with several exciting features revealed.
Vivo X300s Moniker Confirmed
According to Boxiao, the company initially considered naming the device the Vivo X300 Max due to its extensive upgrades. Ultimately, Vivo decided to retain the “s” naming convention, consistent with previous X-series models.
The Vivo X300s is designed for users seeking a large-screen flagship that excels in imaging capabilities. Unlike many recent models that focus on compact displays, this device merges a spacious screen with robust camera features.
The “s” in its name reportedly stands for “SuperMax,” emphasizing enhancements across various aspects, particularly in performance. Vivo indicates that the X300s will complement the X300 Ultra, striking a balance between exceptional photography and high-end hardware.
Boxiao disclosed that the Vivo X300s will feature a 6.78-inch BOE Q10 Plus display with a 144Hz refresh rate. This marks it as the first device in the X series to support such a high refresh rate, enabling native 144FPS gameplay in select MOBA titles. The display will also incorporate Zeiss color tuning and circular polarization technology to enhance eye comfort.
Audio performance is set to receive a boost with the introduction of symmetric 1115 dual speakers, similar to those in the iQOO 15. This system will feature upgraded amplifiers and algorithms for a broader sound field. Vivo claims that audio cues in gaming, such as footsteps and gunfire, will be clearer, aiding players in pinpointing positions.
Additionally, the phone will come equipped with a large customized 4D vibration motor, designed to provide stronger and more nuanced haptic feedback. This motor is expected to support enhanced vibration effects in over ten popular mobile games, delivering a more immersive tactile experience. Boxiao noted that this will be the largest and most powerful vibration motor ever included in an X-series device.
Previous reports indicate that the X300s will boast a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera within its triple camera setup. It will be powered by a Dimensity 9500 chip and feature a battery capacity of around 7,000mAh. The device may support 90W wired and 40W wireless charging and will run on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Additionally, it is expected to have an IP68/69-rated dust and water-resistant chassis.
