Virat Kohli Dismissed for Golden Duck in IPL 2026 Match Against Mumbai Indians

Mumbai, May 11: In the 54th match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced off against Mumbai Indians (MI). Star batsman Virat Kohli was dismissed for a ‘golden duck’ in this encounter.

This marks the second consecutive match where Kohli has been out for zero runs. He also failed to score against Lucknow Super Giants in the previous game. This is only the second time in IPL history that Kohli has been dismissed for a duck in two consecutive innings within the same season. He was caught by Raj Bawa off Deepak Chahar’s bowling. The last time this happened was in 2022 when Kohli faced a similar fate in back-to-back matches.

Chasing a target of 167 runs set by MI, RCB had a rocky start. Kohli was out in the very first over. Following him, Devdutt Padikkal also struggled, scoring just 12 runs off 11 balls before being dismissed. RCB captain Rajat Patidar also fell cheaply, managing only 8 runs.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians scored 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Tilak Varma was the standout performer for MI, scoring 57 runs, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Naman Dheer contributed 47 runs off 32 balls, hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. However, Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma could not capitalize on their opportunities. Rickelton was out for just 2 runs, while Rohit scored 22 runs off 10 balls before returning to the pavilion. Raj Bawa added 16 runs to the total.

In terms of bowling, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was exceptional for RCB, taking 4 wickets for just 23 runs in his 4 overs. Hazelwood, Rasikh, and Romario Shepherd each picked up one wicket.
