Manchester United Ends Losing Streak with Thrilling 3-2 Victory Over Roma
Manchester United rallied from two goals down to defeat Roma 3-2, ending a nine-match losing streak in the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester, November 4 (Daily Kiran) : Manchester United staged a remarkable comeback at Old Trafford on November 4, defeating Roma 3-2 in the UEFA Champions League. This victory marked the end of a disheartening nine-match losing streak for the team.
Roma initially took control of the match, with Matias Sole scoring the first goal. Doniel Malen quickly followed up with a penalty, putting Roma ahead 2-0 within the first 17 minutes. The early goals intensified the pressure on Manchester United, leading to frustration among their supporters, who reacted by throwing green tennis balls onto the pitch and chanting against football director Jason Wilcox.
The situation worsened for United when midfielder Carlos Baleba suffered a hamstring injury, adding to manager Michael Carrick’s challenges. However, captain Bruno Fernandes ignited hope by converting a penalty, despite needing to retake it after his initial attempt was ruled out due to an infringement in the box.
As the match progressed, momentum shifted towards the home side. Bryan Mbeumo came close to equalizing, hitting both posts before United finally broke through. Leonardo Balerdi failed to clear a ball, allowing Matheus Cunha to capitalize and equalize.
In the closing stages, Cunha delivered a decisive blow, scoring from a difficult angle to complete United’s comeback, sending the home crowd into a frenzy. However, the Brazilian received a second yellow card for a foul on Balerdi during stoppage time, having already been booked for removing his shirt during the goal celebration, which left United to finish the match with ten players.
This victory was United’s first in 54 days, easing the pressure on head coach Michael Carrick. Looking ahead, the team faces tough upcoming matches against Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Sporting CP.
