Chandigarh, April 26: Vikramjeet Singh Sahni, a Rajya Sabha MP who recently joined the BJP after leaving the Aam Aadmi Party, has addressed allegations made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Sahni firmly stated that he has not betrayed Punjab or its people, emphasizing his commitment to serving Punjabis.
In response to protests in Punjab and Mann’s sharp comments, Sahni remarked, “After careful consideration, we have concluded that the BJP is the only solution for Punjab and its identity. We cannot speak against Bhagwant Mann; he is the Chief Minister, elected by the people of Punjab. The public is very wise and will make their decision in the 2027 elections.”
Sahni further asserted, “I do not agree with the Chief Minister’s statements. We have not betrayed Punjab or its people. We have always served with our heart, mind, and resources. In the future, we will serve the people of Punjab tenfold. We will ensure that no youth remains unemployed in Punjab. Central Minister Jayant Chaudhary has stated that he will cover all expenses for skill development to eliminate unemployment in Punjab. That is all we desire.”
He also mentioned that Central Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has assured them regarding farmers’ issues and requested proposals. Similarly, Central Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has also sought proposals. “There is no doubt that we will have to provide data. It is unclear what the current ‘black box’ concept in Punjab is,” Sahni added.
The Rajya Sabha MP concluded, “Therefore, we are not betraying the people of Punjab. We are ready to dedicate our lives for Punjab and will serve the people wholeheartedly.”
