Bulawayo: In a Group-2 Super Six match of the Under-19 World Cup held in Bulawayo, the Indian cricket team posted a challenging total of 352 runs for eight wickets, setting Zimbabwe a target of 353 runs to win. This was made possible by a brilliant century from Vihan Malhotra.

After winning the toss, Zimbabwe opted to bowl first. Opening batsmen Aaron George and Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave India a solid start by adding 44 runs for the first wicket. Aaron scored 23 runs off 16 balls before getting out, while Vaibhav played an aggressive innings, hitting 52 runs in 30 balls with four boundaries and four sixes.

However, India lost wickets quickly as captain Ayush Mhathre and Vedant Trivedi fell for 21 and 15 runs respectively. At 130 for four, the Indian innings was steadied by Vihan Malhotra and wicketkeeper-batsman Abhigyan Kundu, who shared a vital 113-run partnership for the fifth wicket, bringing the score to 243.

Abhigyan contributed 61 runs off 62 balls before being dismissed. Vihan continued to anchor the innings, forging further partnerships of 52 runs with R.S. Ambrish and 47 runs with Khilan Patel. He reached his century with a composed innings of 109 not out, including seven boundaries, off 107 balls.
