
Mussoorie, August 20: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan addressed the 2024 batch of IAS trainees at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration.
According to an official post on the Vice President’s social media platform ‘X’, he spoke at the closing ceremony of the second phase of training for the IAS trainees.
The post highlighted that the Vice President emphasized the significant role civil services play in the nation’s development. He noted that they serve as a crucial link between policy formulation and its implementation at the grassroots level. Stressing that character and integrity are the foundations of public service, he remarked that true leadership is measured not by power or position but by the ability to act ethically even in challenging situations.
While discussing the journey towards ‘Developed India 2047’, the Vice President urged the officers to ensure that development reaches the last mile and is inclusive. He encouraged them to adopt ‘service mindset and sense of duty’ as their guiding principles.
Emphasizing teamwork, he advised young officers to strive for the success of the entire team rather than individual or specific group achievements. He highlighted the importance of building cohesive teams, uplifting peers, and continuing the good work initiated by their predecessors.
The Vice President also urged the officers to embrace new technologies such as artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, and blockchain to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service delivery to citizens. He stressed the importance of continuous learning, adaptability to changing circumstances, and preparedness for the future.
