
Prayagraj, April 19: A massive crowd gathered at the Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to celebrate Akshaya Tritiya and Parshuram Jayanti. From early morning on Sunday, devotees flocked to take a holy dip in the sacred waters. The atmosphere was filled with spirituality as worshippers prayed for prosperity and blessings.
Devotee Pratibha Rai shared her experience, stating that she came with her family to bathe in the Sangam on this auspicious day. She emphasized the significance of bathing and performing rituals on Akshaya Tritiya, believing it brings good fortune in life. Rai expressed her hopes for her family’s prosperity during this visit.
Another devotee, Anita Yadav, highlighted the importance of charity on Akshaya Tritiya. She mentioned that donations made on this day yield multiplied benefits. Yadav wished for the happiness of her family and the entire nation, emphasizing the need for everyone to be safe and content.
Sneha, another participant, conveyed her prayers for peace and good health for her family and the country. She noted that the importance of health has increased significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic. According to her, good health is the greatest wealth, as true happiness in life cannot be achieved without it. She also stressed the auspiciousness of giving and seeking blessings from elders on this day.
A priest present at the Sangam explained the dual significance of Akshaya Tritiya and Lord Parshuram Jayanti, which attracted a large number of devotees. He stated that bathing in the Ganges, along with prayers and donations, yields special rewards on this day. Those who donate to Brahmins are believed to enjoy lasting happiness and prosperity.
He further explained that Akshaya Tritiya signifies that the fruits of good deeds performed on this day are never exhausted. Therefore, people should engage in virtuous actions and avoid wrongdoing. The primary message of this day is to encourage individuals to perform good deeds, ensuring a life filled with joy, peace, and success.
