Dehradun, May 3: The Uttarakhand government has initiated strict measures against land fraud cases. Vinay Shankar Pandey, the Commissioner of Garhwal Division, announced that under the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a committee formed to address land fraud has reviewed 104 cases.
Commissioner Pandey stated, “During the meeting on April 6, the Chief Minister clearly instructed that there should be no leniency in cases of land fraud. Following a detailed investigation, orders have been issued to file FIRs in 24 cases.”
He explained that the fraud cases include selling land without ownership rights, preparing forged documents, selling more land than actually owned, and deceiving by showing encroachments in land records. Pandey added, “44 cases have been resolved. Some cases were pending in court, while others had satisfied complainants.”
The government has also introduced a new transparent system. Individuals whose cases are resolved are being sent written notifications. These notifications provide complete details, including the date of application receipt, actions taken by the committee, and the final outcome. Commissioner Pandey described this as a significant step towards ensuring transparency.
Additionally, Banshidhar Tiwari, the Chief Minister’s Additional Secretary, reported after a review meeting in Pauri district that, as per the Chief Minister’s announcement, hostels will be established in every block of the state. Schools with the highest student numbers will be prioritized, and a separate hostel for girls has also been decided.
Addressing illegal constructions, Tiwari mentioned that demolition campaigns are ongoing wherever illegal structures are reported. A list of illegal constructions is being uploaded on the MDDA website for public access.
The Uttarakhand government is continuously monitoring land-related fraud, illegal encroachments, and unauthorized constructions. Under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s directives, the administration is acting swiftly in these matters. Officials claim that these efforts will not only provide justice to the common people but also improve the investment climate in the state.
