Lucknow, August 27: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will preside over the Uttar Pradesh Startup Ecosystem Event 2026 at Lok Bhawan on Thursday. This initiative aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the state, strengthening the startup ecosystem. Various stakeholders, including startups and incubators, will participate in the event. Prior to the event, CM Yogi emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is transitioning from a ‘job seeker’ to a ‘job creator’ culture by providing opportunities for youth ideas, encouraging innovation, and empowering startups.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, the Chief Minister stated, “By providing opportunities for youth ideas, encouraging innovation, and empowering startups, Uttar Pradesh is fostering a new culture of becoming ‘job creators’. Today, in Lucknow, we will distribute over ₹3.42 crores to 107 startups and ₹1.79 crores to 9 incubators under the Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy.”
Additionally, the Chief Minister will unveil the ‘Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy-2026’ booklet and launch the Uttar Pradesh Startup Mission portal. He mentioned in his post that new enterprises from fresh ideas and new jobs from these enterprises represent the new identity of ‘New Uttar Pradesh’.
The event will commence with a welcome address from Alok Kumar, the Principal Secretary of the IT and Electronics Department, followed by a special address from Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma. CM Yogi’s keynote speech is also scheduled. Recognized incubators from the state’s startup ecosystem, members of various committees, representatives from the Center of Excellence, and SIDBI representatives will be present.
To promote startups and innovation, the Yogi government has expanded new incentives and institutional arrangements under the Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy-2026. In 2017, only 120 startups were registered in the state, whereas the number has surged to 24,243 verified startups and 88 incubators as per DPIIT.
Under the new policy, startups will receive a monthly sustenance allowance of ₹20,000, prototype grants up to ₹10 lakh, and seed grants up to ₹15 lakh. There are provisions for equivalent grants up to ₹5 crore based on investment and 4% interest assistance on loans up to ₹2 crore. Additionally, deep-tech startups will have access to long-term capital of up to ₹40 crore, with deep-tech hubs being established in Lucknow and Noida.
