New Delhi, August 3: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Monday that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is evolving from a local economic power to a global development center.
He emphasized that India’s free trade agreements are providing better access to international markets for the state’s key industries and products. This development is creating new opportunities for exporters, artisans, farmers, and businesses in the manufacturing sector.
In a post on the social media platform X, Goyal remarked, “Uttar Pradesh is moving towards a global identity. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state is reaching new heights of development.”
He highlighted that trade agreements are playing a crucial role in connecting the state’s products and industries to global markets. These agreements are opening new avenues for increasing exports for Uttar Pradesh’s major manufacturing and traditional industries.
Goyal pointed out that Kanpur’s renowned leather industry, a long-standing pillar of the state’s economy, will now strengthen its reach in foreign markets through India’s trade agreements.
He also mentioned the rapidly developing electronics manufacturing sector in Noida, noting that access to global markets through free trade agreements is unlocking new possibilities for exporters and manufacturers in this area. Today, Noida is among the leading electronics production centers in the country, and its role in India’s export framework is continuously growing.
Additionally, the traditional handicraft industry in Saharanpur is expected to benefit from the increasing demand in international markets. He stated that reduced trade barriers will provide artisans and small enterprises in the handicraft sector with new markets abroad.
Moreover, agricultural producers in western Uttar Pradesh are also likely to benefit from the changing global trade landscape. He noted that new export opportunities for agricultural products are rapidly emerging.
Piyush Goyal concluded, “Through free trade agreements, Kanpur’s leather industry, Noida’s electronics sector, Saharanpur’s handicrafts, and agricultural products from western Uttar Pradesh are gaining new possibilities in global markets.”
