Lucknow, September 2: The government of Uttar Pradesh is set to make a significant move towards the protection and management of outsourcing personnel. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the Uttar Pradesh Outsourcing Service Corporation (UPCOS) in Lucknow.
In a post on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister stated, “Today in Lucknow, we will launch the Uttar Pradesh Outsourcing Service Corporation (UPCOS) for the digital integration of comprehensive outsourcing human resource management. The portal and website of UPCOS will also be launched, along with the unveiling of its logo and the distribution of checks to outsourcing personnel.”
He further emphasized that transparency through technology, security through organization, and respect for the labor of every worker define the new identity of ‘New Uttar Pradesh.’
The Uttar Pradesh government has also established an Outsourcing Commission. According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s office, measures will be taken to ensure that every outsourcing worker receives a minimum wage and is guaranteed all forms of social security. The necessary funds for this initiative have already been allocated in the budget.
The Chief Minister’s office also mentioned that funds have been allocated in the budget to enhance the incentives and remuneration for Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, cooks, village watchmen, and ration shopkeepers.
Additionally, in August, the Yogi government made a crucial decision to increase the remuneration of outsourcing personnel working in the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation by 5% effective July. According to State Transport Minister (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh, this increase applies to computer operators, accountants cum tally operators, and programmers.
This increase will benefit 249 computer operators in the transport corporation, raising their remuneration from approximately ₹20,655 to ₹21,420. Similarly, the remuneration for 35 accountants cum tally operators will rise, with salaries ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹26,000 based on seniority. Furthermore, the remuneration for 26 programmers will increase from around ₹42,000 to ₹43,313.
