Tokyo, February 26: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on his visit to Japan, has achieved another significant milestone. The Uttar Pradesh government has signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yamanashi Prefecture regarding green hydrogen technology. This agreement will provide Indian students with advanced training opportunities in Japan.

During the UP Investment Roadshow held in Yamanashi, the Chief Minister presented the state’s new development policy and investment potential to the global industry. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh has transformed its governance style from reactive to proactive, which has become the foundation for the state’s rapid economic growth.

At the event, CM Yogi announced the signing of the MoU on green hydrogen technology between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi. Under this agreement, students from Uttar Pradesh’s technical institutions will receive training in Japan, and this technology will be implemented in the state’s industries, public transport, and energy sectors. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in achieving Prime Minister Modi’s net-zero goals.

The Chief Minister noted that the delegation participated in several government-to-government (G2G) and government-to-business (G2B) meetings in Tokyo, where extensive discussions took place with Japanese industry groups, facilitated by the Indian Embassy. He expressed gratitude to the Yamanashi administration for their proactive efforts in advancing investment dialogues.

CM Yogi highlighted robotics as a key future technology, stating that the Uttar Pradesh government has allocated resources in the budget to establish a Center of Excellence for robotics. He believes that the collaboration between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi will elevate India-Japan relations and play a vital role in promoting energy self-sufficiency and technology accessibility for the public.

With a population of approximately 250 million, Uttar Pradesh is India’s largest state, blessed with natural resources. The state boasts the most fertile land, abundant water resources, a vast human resource pool, and a rich spiritual-cultural heritage. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Uttar Pradesh has reached new heights in development, successfully tripling its per capita income and economy over the past nine years. Today, Uttar Pradesh is among the fastest-growing economies in India.

The Chief Minister mentioned the transformation in governance, stating that the previous system was reactive to problems, while Uttar Pradesh has adopted a proactive governance model. The government is continuously making efforts to attract investments, facilitate industries, adopt new technologies, and enhance global partnerships. With this vision, a high-level delegation from Uttar Pradesh visited Japan to turn possibilities into opportunities.

He expressed gratitude to the Governor of Yamanashi and his team for providing the Indian delegation with a significant opportunity to understand their unique sectors closely and engage directly with the industry. CM Yogi also welcomed the industry leaders and members of the Indian community present at the event.

The Chief Minister revealed that the Governor of Yamanashi visited Uttar Pradesh in December 2024, leading to ongoing dialogue, follow-ups, and exchanges of delegations between the two governments, which has propelled this collaboration in a new direction. Following the study and report of the business delegation, the Uttar Pradesh delegation arrived in Yamanashi at the Governor’s invitation, where the cooperation has taken a concrete form.
