Lucknow, February 19: On the ninth day of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s budget session, a general discussion on the budget is underway. The opposition has accused the NDA government of misleading the public regarding the budget, while the NDA asserts that it serves the people’s interests.

Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya spoke to reporters, stating that the main budget has been presented, and now the departmental budgets are being discussed. He emphasized that the departmental budget clarifies the continuous development of the state in the respective sectors for which the budget has been allocated. This aligns with the public’s expectations.

Maurya remarked, “This session is being conducted very efficiently. The purpose of presenting the departmental budget is to ensure comprehensive development through all state departments. Our government is dedicated to development. We work for the people.”

Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Maurya suggested that if Gandhi feels disrespected, he is welcome to come and will be honored with garlands.

The opposition claims they are not being allowed to speak in the assembly. In response, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana stated, “Many members have already spoken. Never before have so many members addressed the house. Including the Governor’s speech and the subsequent discussion, nearly 275 members have contributed, which is a significant number.”

Mahana added, “In recent years, especially in the industrial sector, initiatives like ‘One District, One Product’ and several other schemes have been implemented. Uttar Pradesh has gained recognition across the country, and cities have developed a new identity. Today, ministers will present the budgets for four departments.”

At the AI Summit held in Delhi, UP Minister Danish Azad Ansari remarked, “India has showcased remarkable performance on the global stage and is digitally capable and robust. This was evident at the major AI Summit inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His vision for India is vast, focusing on the nation’s prosperity, welfare, and strength. With this vision, Prime Minister Modi is propelling India forward.”
