
Chennai, March 14: Following a tragic road accident in the Viluppuram district of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced financial assistance for the family of the deceased and the injured. The Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended his condolences to the affected family.
The accident occurred at 6 AM on the Chennai-Kumbakonam National Highway, near the bus stand in Vaniyampalayam village. Reports indicate that a tipper truck loaded with M-sand collided violently with a car traveling ahead of it. The impact was so severe that the car was extensively damaged.
A 65-year-old man named Sekar, who was in the car, died at the scene. The news of the accident caused panic in the area, prompting local residents to immediately alert the police and ambulance services. The injured were subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital.
Four individuals sustained serious injuries in the crash. The injured include Veeravelu (65), Sengari (58), Pakiam (55), and Sudhakar (45). All have been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Mundiyampakkam for treatment. The Chief Minister has directed special arrangements for their medical care to ensure they receive the best possible treatment.
Expressing his grief over the incident, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin stated that he was deeply shocked by the news. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased. Additionally, he announced financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s General Relief Fund to support the affected family.
According to the Chief Minister’s directives, Sekar’s family will receive a compensation of three lakh rupees. Meanwhile, those seriously injured will receive one lakh rupees each, while those with minor injuries will be given fifty thousand rupees each.
The government has assured that every possible assistance will be provided to the victims and that there will be no compromise in the treatment of the injured. The police are currently investigating the entire incident.
