US Forces Seize Iranian-Flagged Cargo Ship in Gulf of Oman: Trump

New York, April 20: President Donald Trump announced that US forces have seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship attempting to breach a blockade in the Gulf of Oman.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated that the vessel, named “Tauska,” measures approximately 900 feet in length and weighs about as much as an aircraft carrier. He noted that the ship was trying to cross the naval blockade, and it did not end well for them.

Trump further explained that a US destroyer intercepted the Tauska in the Gulf of Oman and issued appropriate warnings to stop. “The Iranian crew ignored the warning, so our naval vessel disabled them by puncturing the engine room. The ship is currently under the control of US Marines,” he added.

Recent reports indicate that Iran has retaliated against US military vessels following the seizure.

This announcement coincided with the White House confirming that Vice President J.D. Vance will lead a delegation for the second round of talks with Iran in Pakistan.

Tehran has yet to confirm its participation. According to Iranian state media, officials will not engage in talks as long as the US blockade remains in effect.

Previously, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters warned of a swift response to what they termed “armed maritime piracy” by the US, as reported by China’s Xinhua News Agency citing Iran’s Press TV.

On Sunday, Iran’s official news agency IRNA stated that the country has declined to participate in the proposed second round of peace talks with the US, which were reportedly set to take place soon in Pakistan.

Trump asserted on Friday that the naval blockade of Iranian ports will continue until an agreement is reached between the two nations.
