UP Board Class 12 Practical Exams on January 29-30
The Uttar Pradesh Board has announced that the Class 12 practical examinations for 2026 will now be conducted on January 29 and 30. These dates were earlier removed due to a scheduling conflict with the UP Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) but have been reinstated following the postponement of the UPTET exams.
Students appearing for the UP Board Intermediate exams will therefore have their practical examinations during these days as part of the first phase of practical tests running from January 24 to February 1, 2026.
Two-Phase Practical Exam Schedule and Theory Exam Dates
The board has clarified that the practical exams will be held in two distinct phases. The first phase will take place between January 24 and February 1, while the second phase is scheduled from February 2 to February 9, 2026. The practical exams on January 29 and 30 fall under the first phase.
The dates for the written examinations remain unchanged. The theory exams for Class 10 and 12 students are set to be conducted from February 18 to March 12, 2026. This year, more than 50 lakh students are expected to participate in the UP Board examinations.
UPTET Exam Rescheduled to July
The Uttar Pradesh State Education Service Commission (UPESSC) has announced the postponement of the UP Teacher Eligibility Test, originally slated for January 29 and 30. The UPTET will now be held on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026. The rescheduling was done due to technical and administrative reasons, as stated in the revised exam calendar released by the commission.
Important Guidelines for Practical Exams
The UP Board has introduced several key measures to maintain transparency and accuracy in the evaluation process. All practical examinations will be conducted under mandatory CCTV surveillance, and schools are required to preserve the recordings.
Additionally, practical marks will be uploaded directly by examiners on the boardβs official website. For Class 10 students, internal assessments will be based on project work conducted at the school level.
These steps aim to ensure a smooth and error-free evaluation process for the practical components of the exams.
