China Criticizes Proposed US Foreign Investment Regulations
China responds to US proposed foreign investment rules, calling them discriminatory and harmful to bilateral economic cooperation.

Beijing, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : The US Treasury recently unveiled proposed regulations aimed at foreign investment controls, stirring significant concern in China. On October 24, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce expressed that these regulations unfairly extend investment restrictions in China, framing them as exaggerated national security measures.
The spokesperson emphasized that such actions contradict the important agreements reached between the leaders of both nations. They argue that these regulations disrupt the normal economic and trade cooperation between American and Chinese enterprises and undermine the international economic order.
China has voiced serious concerns and strongly opposes these measures, asserting its right to take necessary actions in response. The spokesperson highlighted that China boasts a vast market with significant consumption and investment potential, asserting that investing in China is essentially investing in the future.
The US’s control over investments in China not only adversely affects Sino-American economic cooperation but also harms the interests of American businesses. China urges the US to respect market economy principles, cease politicizing economic issues, and foster a better environment for economic and trade collaboration between the two countries.
