UAE Defense Ministry Claims Success Against Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks

New Delhi, March 1: The UAE Defense Ministry reported that during Iranian attacks that began on February 28, the UAE Air Force and Air Defense Forces successfully intercepted 165 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and numerous drones.

These incidents resulted in the deaths of three foreign nationals and left 58 others with minor injuries. The ministry emphasized that the capabilities of the air defense system ensured the safety of civilians and property.

On the morning of the second day of the attacks, the UAE Air Force and Air Defense Forces destroyed 20 ballistic missiles, while eight others fell into the sea. They also intercepted two cruise missiles and 311 drones. However, 21 drones managed to strike civilian locations. The ministry confirmed the effectiveness of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense in addressing various threats.

Since the onset of the Iranian attacks on February 28, a total of 165 ballistic missiles launched from Iran towards the UAE have been detected. Of these, 152 were destroyed, while 13 fell into the sea. Additionally, two cruise missiles were intercepted and destroyed.

A total of 541 Iranian drones were tracked, with 506 being neutralized in mid-air, while 35 landed within the country, causing damage. Among the casualties were three individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Furthermore, 58 people sustained minor injuries, including nationals from the UAE, Egypt, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, and Afghanistan.

The ministry noted that debris from intercepted ballistic missiles and drones fell in various areas, resulting in minor to moderate damage to civilian properties.

The ministry expressed its readiness to tackle any threats and emphasized that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains the top priority, with no compromises allowed.
