Bengaluru, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gore met with Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar in Bengaluru on September 6. The discussion focused on initiatives like Pax Silica and Trust, aimed at enhancing collaboration between India and the United States through space technology, artificial intelligence, and business ventures.
Ambassador Gore shared a photo of their meeting on social media platform X, expressing his pleasure in reconnecting with Shivakumar. He noted that these initiatives are creating opportunities for both American and Indian industries.
The meeting coincided with a celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence, where Gore was the chief guest, joined by U.S. Consul General Mariana L. Neisular. He expressed pride in celebrating this milestone and the strength of the U.S.-India partnership, particularly in fostering innovation and strengthening supply chains across southern India.
During his visit, Gore also met Indian astronaut Shubham Shukla, who is set to travel to the International Space Station. He highlighted Shukla’s journey from training at NASA to leading the Axiom Space AX-4 mission as a prime example of successful U.S.-India space cooperation.
Gore remarked, “Celebrating 250 years of American independence with you is a great honor. I want to thank Chief Minister Shivakumar for taking the time to join us in this celebration. This is my second visit in a month, reflecting the dynamism of the Chief Minister. We have accomplished much and will continue to do so with this great state.”
He further emphasized the significance of the Trust Fellowship, which aims to unite leading American and Indian researchers to tackle defining technologies of this century, including AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, and biotech. Gore expressed a desire for the program to expand, attracting more donors and fellows to achieve greater successes.
