Gwalior, August 8: In a remarkable display of courage, two twin sisters in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, apprehended a young man who snatched a mobile phone and attempted to flee. The sisters not only chased the suspect but also managed to retrieve their phone before handing him over to the police. In recognition of their bravery, the Gwalior police honored the students for their quick thinking and determination.
On Saturday morning, law students Rashita Agarwal and Ashita Agarwal were riding their scooter to college. As they passed the new bridge near Phoolbagh Chowk, a young man on a motorcycle suddenly snatched Rashita’s phone and sped away.
Displaying remarkable courage, the sisters immediately began pursuing the suspect. They caught up with him after a short distance. Despite the suspect’s attempts to escape, he was no match for the sisters’ determination.
Witnesses reported that the sisters retrieved their mobile phone and confronted the suspect, who repeatedly apologized. However, they chose to inform the authorities by calling Dial-112, ensuring he was handed over to the police.
Upon receiving the report, the police detained the suspect for questioning. He has been identified as Manpreet, a resident of Punjab, who was in Gwalior for work.
Impressed by the sisters’ bravery, Gwalior’s SSP Dharmveer Singh Yadav invited them to commend their actions. He stated that vigilant and courageous citizens play a crucial role in community safety and should be encouraged.
Currently, the police at the Padhav station are interrogating the suspect to determine if he has been involved in previous mobile snatching or other criminal activities.
Meanwhile, a video capturing the sisters’ heroic act has gone viral on social media, receiving widespread praise from the public.
