TVS Launches Orbiter V1 Electric Scooter at ₹84,500 with Flexible Battery Subscription Option

New Delhi, March 13: TVS Motor Company has officially launched the TVS Orbiter V1 electric scooter, priced at ₹84,500 (ex-showroom). For those looking for a more affordable option, the scooter is also available under the Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) model for just ₹49,999 (ex-showroom).

The BaaS model allows customers to subscribe to battery usage separately, with plans starting at ₹862 per month. This includes battery assurance and extended warranty coverage for up to five years or 70,000 km, depending on the selected plan. This innovative structure aims to provide flexibility in ownership and predictable running costs.

The Orbiter V1 is equipped with a 1.8 kWh battery pack, designed primarily for urban commuting. TVS claims an IDC-certified range of 86 km on a full charge, with the battery capable of charging from 0 to 80% in approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.

In terms of design, the scooter features an 845 mm flat seat for comfort, a 290 mm footboard for added legroom, and wide handlebars for an upright riding posture. It also boasts 34 liters of under-seat storage, spacious enough for two helmets.

Connectivity features include a mobile app, front LED headlamp with visor, and a color LCD instrument cluster that displays incoming calls. Additional functionalities comprise crash alerts, anti-theft notifications, geo-fencing, and remote battery status monitoring.

Gaurav Gupta, President of India 2W Business at TVS Motor Company, stated, “The launch of TVS Orbiter V1 strengthens our EV portfolio, offering an accessible entry point into electric scooters. The BaaS model represents a significant shift in EV ownership, enhancing flexibility and clarity in overall costs.”

Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President, added that the positive customer feedback on the TVS Orbiter V2 has encouraged the expansion of their lineup, making the Orbiter V1 a practical choice for daily urban commuting.

With the introduction of the Orbiter V1, TVS aims to drive greater acceptance and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles across India.
